Amanda Moreno is the Esperanza Bravo de Varona Chair and Director of the Cuban Heritage Collection (CHC) at the University of Miami Libraries. A graduate of the MA/MSLIS dual-degree program in Latin American and Caribbean Studies and Library and Information Science from New York University (NYU) and Long Island University, she received a NYU MacCracken Fellowship, American Library Association Spectrum scholarship and a fellowship from the Association of Research Libraries' Initiative to Recruit a Diverse Workforce during her graduate study. Amanda also participated in the Smithsonian’s Latino Museum Studies Program in 2015. In 2020, she was awarded a Rare Book School-Andrew W. Mellon Fellowship for Diversity, Inclusion & Cultural Heritage.  
 
As Director of the Cuban Heritage Collection, Amanda is responsible for departmental operations, collection development, public outreach and community engagement, and fundraising. She served as the Collection’s Archivist from 2017 to 2023, where she managed and processed historical collections related to Cuba and its diaspora, while also providing reference and instruction services for students, faculty, and independent researchers. She has previously worked as an Archives Assistant at CHC and a Collection Development Assistant for Latin American materials at NYU's Bobst Library.
