This resource guide is a companion to the "Teaching with Primary Sources" Institutional Academy for Teaching Excellence (I-ATE) workshop, hosted by UM's Platform for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (PETAL). The workshop introduced faculty to teaching with primary sources, focusing on pedagogical strategies for student engagement. Faculty presenters from UM Libraries, Special Collections, and the Lowe Art Museum gave an overview of primary sources, highlight specific UM resources through our distinctive and digital collections, and provide guidance on finding aids, resources, support.
