Provides access to citations for biomedical articles from Medline and life science journals. When you click on an article title in the search results, the record will appear: scroll down the page to find Similar Articles. Note: Two types of searches 1) Basic search found on the home page OR 2) Advanced (link found under the Basic search box) - UpToDate
In this resource, thousands of clinicians and subject experts critically evaluate medical literature to produce content in a succinct, searchable format. It covers 25 medical specialties, including orthopedics. Two ways to find information: * First 1) Click on Contents tab (first tab on blue band, top right corner) > then click on Specialty Topics a) FOR adult orthopedics > select Rheumatology > Adult Orthopedics b) FOR pediatrics > Select Pediatrics> Pediatric orthopedics (2nd column bottom). * Second 2) On the home page, in the main search box, type a topic, and various titles of summaries will appear. * Because these summaries are based on original research, you cannot reference “UpToDate” in your literature review. Instead, it is necessary to go back to original studies and cite the information for your literature review from there. You will see numbers through out the summaries - these indicate references. To get to the original articles or research, click on a number. This most bring up a "PubMed LinkOut", which will take you to the article in PubMed. Read the article and reference (or cite) it from here. * FOR graphics or images related to contents in the summary, skim the table of contents (TOC) to left of each summary. Look for the graphics symbol in the TOC to find the visuals and images. Not every summary includes graphics, etc.). * Excellent resource.
