Amy Strickland received her Master’s degree in Library and Information Studies from the University of Alabama, where she also received a Master’s degree in Music, specializing in musicology.

In May 2010 Ms. Strickland joined Weeks Music Library, where she currently serves as Assistant Head and oversees technical services operations. In 2018 she collaborated with Richter Library's Learning Commons to bring the services of the Creative Studio into the music library.

She is a member of the American Library Association (ALA), the Music Library Association (MLA), the Music Library Association’s Southeast Chapter (SEMLA), the Music OCLC Users Group (MOUG), and Online Audiovisual Catalogers, Inc. (OLAC).

Ms. Strickland’s professional interests include the performing practices of modern and avant garde music, the effects of changing copyright laws on preserving and providing access to printed and performed music, and the adoption of new technologies to enhance library services.
