Amy Strickland received her Master’s degree in Library and Information Studies from the University of Alabama, where she also received a Master’s degree in Music, specializing in musicology.

In May 2010 Ms. Strickland joined Weeks Music Library, where she oversees cataloging, digital, and web services, and assists in education and outreach activities. She has participated in a variety of library initiatives, including the implementation of the Variations streaming audio reserve system.

Ms. Strickland is a member of the American Library Association (ALA), the Music Library Association (MLA), the Music Library Association’s Southeast Chapter (SEMLA), and the Music OCLC Users Group (MOUG). She presented at the 2011 annual meeting of the Music Library Association’s Southeast Chapter, where she discussed the University of Miami Libraries’ implementation of Variations. In 2013, she co-presented on "Digital Special Music Collections at the University of Miami" with Nancy Zavac, head of the Weeks Music Library.

Ms. Strickland’s research interests include the performing practices of modern and avant garde music, the effects of changing copyright laws on libraries, and the adoption of new technologies to enhance library services.
