Andrew Darby joined the University of Miami Libraries in 2011 as the Head of Web & Emerging Technologies (now Web & Application Development).  His department is responsible for web design and development; software development; software customization and integration; library cloud infrastructure management; user experience; and the identification & implementation of technologies to support and advance library programs and services.  Andrew previously worked as the Web Services Librarian at Ithaca College and the Digital Services Coordinator at the University of Houston Libraries.

Andrew earned his MLIS from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  He also has a B.A. (Hons) and an M.A., both in English Literature from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.

Andrew is a longstanding member of the editorial committee of the open access quarterly Code4Lib Journal, and is also the creator of SubjectsPlus, an open source library content management system.
