General Information
Here is what you need to know about UM Libraries study rooms and graduate commons carrels:
  • No appointment necessary for open seating areas in all libraries, except the Marine & Atmospheric Science Library.
  • No appointment necessary to pick up paged materials.
  • Appointments are needed for use of a study room or graduate commons carrel in Richter, Music, Marine & Atmospheric Science Library.
  • Check in up to 30 minutes before your appointment
  • You can still check in up to 10 minutes after your appointment start time before automatic cancellation
How to make an appointment

Graduate Carrels may not be reserved in advance. They are available on a first-come/first-serve basis. They can be booked at the Access Services Desk. 

Group study rooms may be booked one day in advance.

  1. Select a study room from the floors listed.
  2. Select the starting time.
  3. Adjust the ending time if needed.
  4. Sign in to review your reservation details.
  5. Submit your booking.
  6. You will receive a confirmation email.
  7. Bring your confirmation email and CaneCard when you visit the library.

You can now book up to 1 day in advance.  (Study rooms may be booked one day in advance due to high demand.)

UC Ibis Study Lounge Spaces
Hours of operation:  Sunday-Thursday: 8am-12am, Friday-Saturday: 8am-10pm

Instructions: Go to www.miami.edu/sccreservations, sign in with Cane credentials, and book a UC Ibis Study Lounge Space.
 
Reservable Zoom/Private Study Rooms (maximum of 2 hours):
  • 4 Rooms (Capacity: 1)
Reservable Group Study Rooms (maximum of 2 hours):
  • 3 Rooms (Capacity: 5); 1 Conference Room (Capacity: 10)
