Daniel E. Roose
Dan Roose joined the faculty of the University of Miami Libraries in 2010 as the Head of Acquisitions. In this role, Dan leads the Acquisitions Department in the acquisition of collection resources in all formats, as well as the licensing and maintenance of electronic resources. He also provides oversight of the Libraries’ collection budget.
Dan holds a Master of Library and Information Science from Dominican University, and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University. Prior to joining the UM faculty, he served as the Associate Dean for Technical Services at the Butler University Libraries.
Dan is an active member of the American Library Association, having held committee appointments in the Acquisitions Section of the Association for Library Collections and Technical Services, and in the Systems and Services Section of the Library Leadership and Management Association. He is also a member of the Association of College and Research Libraries and the North American Serials Interest Group.
