Research & Assessment Librarian
Kineret Ben-Knaan is the Research and Assessment Librarian at the University of Miami. In this role, Kineret provides support for the achievement of the University of Miami Libraries' strategic goals through the development of an assessment program and data-driven assessment activities related to services, collections, technology, and physical spaces.
Kineret works collaboratively with members of the libraries administrative leadership and management teams to understand, predict and accommodate user needs as well as enhance organizational effectiveness. She also provides assessment support to UML strategic initiatives, including UML's Learning Commons initiative, and the User Experience Team.
Kineret recently relocated to the United States from Israel, where she obtained her library degree and professional experience. Prior to coming to the University of Miami, she worked as an Acquisitions Librarian for Continuing Resource at Ben-Gurion University, Israel. Her responsibilities as an Acquisitions Librarian, included data gathering, evaluation of pricing, and usage statistics analysis to support collection assessment, budget processes, and potential purchasing opportunities.
Kineret earned her M.A. in Information Studies, from Bar-Ilan University, Israel. She also has a B.A. and an M.A., both in Art History from Tel Aviv University, Israel.
Kineret is a member of the American Library Association (ALA) and the Association for Library Collections and Technical Services (ALCTS).
